VMT 3.0® takes our successful vertical metal core technology two steps further by adding two additional aluminum alloy struts on either side of the center strut. This creates a precise, quiet ride, that is light and nimble in difficult conditions.

This ski feels and skis like a race ski. The only difference is its way more fun! You can feel the stability when you lay it on edge and drag hip, but pop out of the turn for some stylish high speed butters no problem because of the lightweight and stable VMT and bamboo core.
With 30 days on this ski I would like to praise the improved interplay between the core woods and VMT 3.0. I skied >200 days on the 2001 V82 and this newer package retains the playfulness of its forebears but has a dampness to its torsional rigidity that is responsive and predictable. I found this translates to smoother transitions at high speeds and better performance in bumps. Hopeful that it also proves as lasting as the earlier models.
At Telluride, I earn my living 3-days a week on this ski. I could have bought any ski out there, but choose this one for many reasons. First, I love the fact that they are made in Colorado. Second, I desire a ski that never wants to stop carving on hard pack snow. Third, this is company that stands behind their products. I ordered the skis on a Sunday and they were delivered by Wednesday. If you were to have just one pair of skis, I strongly urge you to consider this ski.
I ski this ski on groomers and it is a light but hard charging performer. It performs well in short and mid radius turn shapes. It initiates turns easily and holds an edge well throughout the turn. I would recommend for intermediate to advanced skiers looking for a non-race ski that performs like a race ski.
